Germany's Lufthansa to start biofuel-jet mix flights

London-German carrier Lufthansa said November 29 it would start using a 50-50 mix of biofuel and kerosene on scheduled com- mercial flights in a six-month trial starting April 2011. The trial is part of a Eur6.6 million ($8.6 million) project backed by the German govern- ment in an aviation research program to raise the sustainability of air traffic.
