US senators press State on Keystone pipeline

Washington-Eleven senators wrote US Secre- tary of State Hillary Clinton October 29 asking the State Department to respond to ques- tions regarding the impact of the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline before it decides whether to approve the project. The State Department has the authority to issue permits for pipelines that cross interna- tional borders and is currently reviewing the permit request for the Keystone line that will carry crude from the Alberta oil sands fields to the US Midwest.
