Baghdad—Explosives planted in an open area near Iraq’s main northern export oil pipeline to Turkey in the early hours of April 22 caused an explosion and oil spill, halted pumping on the key export line and loadings of Iraqi Kirkuk crude at the Turkish port, the head of Iraq’s oil police and oil officials told Platts.
