Eni sees Zubair investment return hitting at least 20%

London-Italy's Eni believes it can make a return on its investment in Iraq's Zubair oil field of not less than 20%, the company's upstream chief Claudio Descalzi said October 29. Speaking on a conference call after the company's third quarter results, Descalzi said its average return on upstream projects was 20%, and that Zubair "is not expected to be less than that." Eni was awarded the license to develop the Zubair oil field in southern Iraq on October 13, less than four months after failing to agree on a deal for the same field in Iraq's first bid round.
