India’s RIL makes record $1.03 billion profit

Singapore-Indian refining and petrochemical giant Reliance Industries Limited July 27 posted a record quarterly net profit of Rupees 48.51 billion ($1.03 billion) in the April-June quarter, up 32% from Rupees 36.66 billion in the same period the previous year led by higher sales volumes and prices. The company’s revenue also rose to a record quarterly high at Rupees 610 billion, a jump of 88% year on year. Revenue from the exploration and production business segment soared 150.3% to Rupees 46.65 billion, RIL said.
