Repsol, Statoil find oil in Brazil's Campos Basin

Rio de Janeiro-Spain's Repsol and Norway's Statoil have together found oil in Brazil's offshore Campos Basin, Brazilian petroleum regulator ANP said February 22.Repsol found the oil in a well drilled to 6,583 meters (21,597 feet) below the seabed in water 2,667 meters deep, ANP said on its web site. The well is in the C-M-539 block about 200 km (124 miles) off Brazil's coast near Rio de Janeiro. The well was drilled using the Stena Drillmax, a drill ship owned by Sweden's Stena Drilling, ANP said.
