Washington-A US district court judge has ordered a halt to a sale of more than 169,000 acres of land near national parks in Utah for oil and gas drilling after environmental groups sued. The ruling appeared to be an initial victory for one environmental activist, Tim DeChristopher, who in December managed to successfully bid $1.79 million for 22,000 acres, though he had no money, in the hope of disrupting the auction.
