ExxonMobil commits to exploration well off Ireland

London-US major ExxonMobil has committed to drilling a well in the Porcupine Basin offshore western Ireland, license partner Providence Resources said August 12. ExxonMobil is the operator of the Dunquin frontier exploration license 3/04 and holds a 40% stake. Its partners are Italy's Eni, which holds 40% following an announcement earlier this week that it has acquired half of ExxonMobil's stake, Providence with 16% and Sosi-na with 4%.
