UK 2010 oil, gas output to be slightly down

London'UK oil and gas output is likely to slip to 2.35 million b/d of oil equivalent this year from 2.38 million boe/d in 2009, upstream industry association Oil & Gas UK said July 6 in its annual economic report. Despite declining production, however, the report said that between 15 and 24 billion barrels of oil equivalent could potentially still be recovered and that the country could still meet half of projected oil and gas demand in 2020 from its own resources provided investment is sustained above GBP5 billion/year ($7.6 billion).
