Almaty, Kazakhstan-Kazakhstan expects its crude output in 2009 to rise to around 75 million mt (1.5 million b/d), Kazakhstan's Deputy Energy Minister Lyazzat Kiinov said October 6, though the country is facing declining output at some of its older fields. "We expect oil production to rise 5 million mt in comparison with last year. If last year we produced a little more than 70 million mt, then this year we expect to produce around 75 million mt," he said at a conference in Almaty.
