Japan’s JX sells some US Gulf assets to Black Elk

Tokyo-Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration has sold its stakes in 19 of 32 projects in the US Gulf of Mexico, totaling an equity output of around 6,000 b/d of oil equivalent, to US independent exploration and production company Black Elk Energy Operations, JX said October 5. JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration, upstream arm of the JX Group, declined to disclose the price of the transaction.
