UK's Melrose increases forecast for 2009 output due to new developments in Egypt

London-UK-based upstream independent Melrose Resources expects average production of 16,300 b/d of oil equivalent for 2009 on a net entitlement basis from a previous forecast of 15,000 boe/d, the company said August 26. This would still be down on 2008's total of 18,500 boe/d, however, after the company shut down natural gas production at its Bulgarian offshore Galata field to turn it into a gas storage facility.
