London-The International Maritime Organization is concerned that "adverse weather conditions and other contributing factors" may result in a spill from the VLCC Maran Centaurus hijacked by Somali pirates, the IMO said December 10. Deteriorating weather "coupled with reported unsafe anchorage conditions" have led to concerns that the vessel might be damaged by grounding, leading to its cargo being spilled, the IMO said.
