US unveils $2.3 billion in energy tax credits

Washington-The US Treasury and Energy departments on August 13 said they will provide $2.3 billion in tax credits for energy equipment manufacturers under the economic stimulus package, DOE said. Under the program, facilities that manufacture equipment for clean energy projects- including fuel cells, renewable fuel refineries, smart grid technologies and solar components-would be eligible for an investment tax credit of 30%.
