Gazprom signals large EU gas export cuts

Moscow—Russian gas giant Gazprom signalled March 31 a further reduction in the forecast for its gas exports to Europe in 2009, suggesting new declines in demand from the company’s principal export market.Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said in St Petersburg that he expects such exports to fall to 140 billion cubic meters this year from 178 Bcm in 2008.
