UK's Centrica secures control of Venture Production

London-UK energy company Centrica August 24 finally secured control of Venture Production, the UK and Dutch-focused upstream company, after a five-month hostile takeover battle. Centrica spent over GBP100 million ($165 million) August 24 to buy more than 12 million shares in Venture at its offer price of GBP8.45/share. This represented an equity stake of 8.4%.
