Perenco sees no quick fix to Ecuador dispute

New York-French independent oil producer and operator Perenco expects no resolution to its paralyzed Ecuador crude oil operations until 2012 as its conflict with Ecuador and Petroecuador wends through an international tribunal, a company spokesman said on August 19. Perenco argues its assets were seized last month by the Ecuadorean government, while the government claims the assets were abandoned. "We should have a final resolution in 2012, if there are no other surprises," Perenco spokesman Rodrigo Marquez said.
