KazMunaiGaz raises Q1 capex, oil production

London-Kazakhstan's state-owned oil and gas company KazMunaiGaz said April 17 its capital expenditure for the first quarter of 2009 was 2.5 times higher than the same period last year, helping it boost oil and gas condensate production by 0.3% to 4.436 million mt (366,500 b/d).In January-March 2009, capital expenditures amounted to Tenge 52.6 billion ($355 million), the company said in a statement.
