Gazprom said to be cutting 2009 investments by 23%

Moscow-Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to cut its 2009 investment budget by nearly 23% and develop only projects that are feasible at an oil price of $25/barrel, Russian business daily Kommersant reported February 25 citing an unnamed source.Gazprom now expects its investment program to be Rb713 billion ($19.9 billion), down from the Rb920.44 billion approved in December 2008, the daily reported, after the Gazprom board February 24 considered the company's investment plan for 2009. Gazprom declined to comment on the Kommersant report.
