Russia's Tatneft makes first Libyan oil discovery

Dubai-Russian oil producer Tatneft has reported its first oil discovery at its joint-venture license with Libya's National Oil Company (NOC) in the Ghadames Basin, NOC said August 25. The Libyan state-owned company said in a statement posted on its web site that a wildcat well was drilled to a depth of 8,605 feet (2,600 meters) in the Ghadames Basin block operated by the Russian company.
