Seoul-South Korea's state-run gas company Korea Gas Corporation has delayed the development of a natural gas project in Uzbekistan by two years to 2014 because of uncertainty about its reserves, the company said October 7. In May 2008, Kogas signed an agreement with Uzbekistan's state-owned Uzbekneftegaz to jointly develop the Surgil block by 2012. The two companies set up a 50:50 joint venture for the $2.9 billion project, and said commercial production could start as early as 2012.
