Russia’s Gazprom forced to cut production

Moscow-Russia’s Gazprom has been forced to cut upstream natural gas production as a result of the bitter dispute with Ukraine, the company disclosed January 16. “We were forced to cut our gas production by over 200 million cubic meters [per day] and switch a number of our gas storage sites in Russia to pump gas into them rather than withdraw it,” Boris Posyagin, head of Gazprom’s dispatching division, said on Russian television.
