Canadian Superior head fires back at big shareholder

New York—The chairman of Canadian Superior Energy has fired back at a group of shareholders calling for him to step down, threatening to sue them unless they issue an apology.Palo Alto Investors issued an open letter April 1 in which it said Greg Noval “has insurmountable conflicts of interest” regarding other companies with which Canadian Superior does business. The group, which owns 9.3% of Canadian Superior, also took the company’s board of directors to task for its apparent lack of oversight of the chairman.
