Colombia inaugurates new pipeline for Rubiales oil

Puerto Gaitan, Colombia-Colombia inaugurated its 260,000 b/d Eastern Plains Pipeline September 14, tying the developing Rubiales oil field in eastern Meta state to the national grid. About half the pipeline's capacity will be in use by early 2010 for shipping heavy crude produced at Rubiales, all of which will be exported to refineries on the US Gulf Coast.
