On a stroll across Cornell's ag quad, perhaps the last image to come to mind would be that of subsistence farmers toiling on their impoverished soil. More likely are visions of students toiling to better their grade point averages--not humanity on the edge. But think again; the connection between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the rural populations of the developing world is probably much closer than you'd imagine.
