Bahamas set for exploration revival with StatoilHydro

London-Norway's StatoilHydro has formed a venture with Australia-based BPC to conduct exploration work offshore the Bahamas, breathing new life into one of the world's longest-dormant upstream oil and gas plays.The two companies have applied jointly for three new exploration licenses around the Atlantic Ocean islands, Perth-based BPC said May 18. The company had already applied for the new areas on its own before being joined by StatoilHydro.
