Nigeria to meet IOCs over oil industry reform

Lagos-Nigeria has agreed to meet foreign oil companies operating in the country as a group in a bid to get the companies to back the comprehensive reform of its oil sector, industry officials said October 18. The government previously was expected to begin October 12 talks with the oil companies on the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill, but suffered a setback after the companies declined the government's offer to meet them individually.
