ExxonMobil restarts Cepu output at 2,000-5,000 b/d

Jakarta-ExxonMobil's Indonesian unit August 31 restarted production at the Cepu oil field at 2,000-5,000 b/d and plans to ramp up output to 15,000 b/d in September, the chairman of upstream regulator BPMigas, Raden Priyono, said September 1. Production at Cepu was halted April 1 due to safety issues arising from the transport of crude by truck from the block to a refinery in East Java pending the construction of a pipeline (ON 4/20). The restart was later pushed back from July to August following delays in the construction of the pipeline, which is now ready.
