Italy's Eni mulls sale of North Sea assets; Looking to 'clean' portfolio; reports suggest $1 billion price tag

London-Italian major Eni is considering the sale of some of its mature North Sea oil and gas assets as part of moves to streamline the group's upstream portfolio, CEO Paolo Scaroni said June 16. "They are small assets with declining production, our policy is to reduce the marginal assets," Eni reported Scaroni as saying on the sidelines of a book presentation in Rome. "It's a question of some thousands of barrels, it's really about cleaning the portfolio."
