Ras Laffan, Qatar-Qatar is set to reach its 77 million mt/year LNG production capacity target by September 2010 after completion of its final "megatrain," Qatari oil minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said October 27. He also said the end of a moratorium on further development of the country's offshore North Field was "still under study." Attiyah spoke to reporters after the official inauguration of the 7.8 million mt/yr capacity Train 6, the penultimate production train to come on line at the RasGas LNG plant in the industrial center of Ras Laffan.
