Moscow—Kazakhstan’s government has passed a resolution allowing oil and mineral extraction companies to apply for lower production taxes if the companies are not profitable, an energy ministry spokesman said March 31.“The government may lower the mineral extraction tax if the company can prove that their production has become unprofitable,” the spokesman said by telephone from Astana.
