Kuwait Energy makes first oil discovery in Egypt

Dubai-The Kuwait Energy Company has made its first oil discovery in Egypt with the successful drilling of the Shahed and Rana wells on the East Ras Qattara field in the Western Desert region, the company said April 22. The two wells are flowing at a combined production rate of 5,285 b/d, the company said in a statement. Expectations are that the field holds reserves of around 3.5 million barrels.
