Baghdad-Iraq's Parliament has cleared the way for the return of up to 100 British Royal Navy personnel to provide security and training for Iraqi forces at oil facilities in the south of the country. Britain ended its military presence in Iraq on July 31 under an agreement between London and Baghdad last year. Prior to the withdrawal, around 100 Navy personnel had been training Iraqi naval forces, as well as providing security for the Basra and Khor al-Amaya Persian Gulf oil terminals.
