Mexico's KMZ output record offsets Cantarell decline

Mexico City-Output from Mexico's leading crude-producing complex, Ku-Maloob-Zaap (KMZ) in the Sound of Campeche, reached a record 835,000 b/d in September, a 20% increase on the same month of last year, the energy ministry has reported. KMZ is Mexico's main hope of sustaining the current 2.6 million b/d output of state Pemex. Senior officials at Pemex have said that KMZ is close to its peak, though they remain unsure as to when it might go into decline.
