Moscow-Russian gas giant Gazprom reported November 9 a 36% slide in second quarter earnings as the economic downturn continued to depress global gas prices and sales volumes. The world's largest natural gas producer said net income fell to Rb192.56 billion ($6.64 billion) in the quarter, still beating most analysts' forecasts for the period.
