UK meeting to discuss market transparency; Oil market players invited by Financial Services Authority

London-Britain's Financial Services Authority has invited a range of oil market participants to a two-hour roundtable at its London headquarters August 5 to discuss whether measures need to be taken to improve transparency and efficiency of UK markets. An FSA spokeswoman said July 31 the meeting was part of the agency's "regular engagement with the industry" and was not linked to last week's US Commodity Futures Trading Commission hearings at which Chairman Gary Gensler said he believed the agency should set position limits in energy and other markets.
