Maurel & Prom farms into licenses in Tanzania, Mozambique in deal with Artumas

Cape Town, South Africa-France-based Maurel & Prom is to expand its exploration acreage in Tanzania and Mozambique after signing farm-in deals with Oslo-listed independent Artu-mas, the company said September 18. It plans to farm into a 38.22% participating interest in the Mnazi Bay permit in Tanzania, with a 47.775% interest for exploration opera-tions-the difference being due to Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation's 20% interest in all but exploration operations. It also will assume operatorship of all petroleum operations under the production sharing agreement.
