Sydney-Caltex Australia has signaled a major shift in corporate strategy that would see it diversify beyond solely oil refining and marketing to embrace new businesses, including LNG. Caltex operates two refineries in eastern Australia-a 105,500 b/d plant at Lytton in Brisbane, and a 124,500 b/d facility at Kur-nell in Sydney-which are expected to produce more than 10 billion liters of transport fuels in 2009. The company also has a strong presence in the marketing sector, supplying fuel to around 2,000 of Australia's 6,000 retail fuel outlets.
