Repairs due on ruptured French oil line by end-August

London-Repairs to a crude oil pipeline in France that has been shut since August 7 due to a crack and subsequent oil spill are expect- ed to be completed by the end of next week, the pipeline operator Societe Du Pipeline Sud-Europeen (SPSE) said August 18. The pipeline runs from Fos in France up to Karlsruhe in Germany and feeds a number of refineries in mainland Europe. An alternative 24-inch diameter pipeline is currently being used to provide these refineries with oil.
