Chevron restarts Cook Inlet output as volcano quiets

Anchorage-Four Cook Inlet oil production platforms operated by Chevron have restarted production after being shut in since April, and three other platforms will be back in operation by August 21, Chevron spokeswoman Rox-anne Sinz said August 12. The platforms were shut following the closure in March of the Drift River oil loading terminal on the west side of Cook Inlet due to eruptions of Mount Redoubt, a nearby volcano. Mount Redoubt has since quieted.
