London-UK gas-focused exploration and production company Venture Production said January 15 it has not received any formal takeover offers following speculation that UK utility Centrica might be lining up a bid. In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, Venture said that it “has noted the recent movement in the company’s share price and speculation concerning a potential offer for the company. The board of Venture has received no approaches in relation to any potential offer.”
