Brazil’s Petrobras to invest $10.6 billion in gas by 2013

Sao Paulo-Brazil state-owned oil company Petrobras said February 10 it will invest $10.6 billion in boosting natural gas production and supply as part of its $174.7 billion strategic five-year plan unveiled last month. The company said in a statement that $5.2 billion would go toward new natural gas projects, with $5.4 billion spent on projects already under development. The numbers represent a spending increase of 70% over the company’s previous five-year plan announced last year.
