Poland to hasten construction of planned LNG terminal

Warsaw—The Polish government approved extraordinary legislation March 18 to fast track the construction of a planned LNG terminal to lessen Poland’s dependence on Russian gas supplies.A government statement said the Council of Ministers approved the law to enable the planned terminal to import 2.5 billion cubic meters/year of LNG at the site in Swinouj-scie, northwest Poland, by 2014.
