Statoil hikes share of Iraq West Qurna plan

Baghdad-Iraq's oil ministry signed a draft contract with Russia's Lukoil and Norway's Statoil on December 29 to develop the second phase of the West Qurna oil field, giving Statoil a bigger share of the development partnership. In a statement, Statoil said the adjusted contract increases its share of the foreign segment of the project to 25% from 15%, reducing Lukoil's ownership split to 75% from 85%.
