New York-US heating oil stocks dropped 2.568 million barrels to 46.473 million barrels the week ending December 25 as demand edged higher while production and imports inched lower, an analysis of the oil data released December 29 by the American Petroleum Institute showed. February crude futures settled 10 cents higher at $78.87/barrel, as a firmer tone to the US dollar capped a rally that was led for the second straight day by heating oil.
