Lu’an produces China’s first liquid fuel from coal

Singapore-China’s Lu’an Group produced the first liquid fuel at its Shanxi coal-to-liquids plant in northern China in late December, according to a company source. Lu’an’s 160,000 mt/year (12,800 b/d) CTL plant is the first indirect coal liquefaction demonstration project in China, according to the company’s web site.
