Houston-Shares of E&P upstart Cabot Oil & Gas jumped 10% October 27, after the company's combined announcement of solid third-quarter results with higher production guidance and news of enhanced potential in the Marcellus and Haynesville shale plays. "Cabot offers balanced exposure to two of the bigger emerging US unconventional natural gas resource shale plays-the Marcellus Shale of Pennsylvania and the Haynesville Shale of East Texas," wrote Buckingham Research Group analyst Robert Christensen, summarizing the views of others who also follow the Houston company (ON 6/6/08).
