Indian refiner HPCL sinks deeper into red

Singapore-India's state-owned refiner and marketer Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited January 28 reported a net loss of Rupees 4.22 billion ($86.35 million) for the last three months of 2008, slipping deeper into the red from a net loss of Rupees 157.4 million a year ago.Losses ballooned despite HPCL's total income growing to Rupees 295.41 billion in Q4 from Rupees 273.67 billion in the corresponding period of 2007.
