Knoxville, Tennessee-A 195 Bcf withdrawal left US natural gas storage inventories at 2.179 Tcf for the week ended January 30, the Energy Information Administration reported February 5. The withdrawal was within consensus expectations that ranged from 193 to 198 Bcf. In the same week of 2007, EIA reported 2.119 Tcf in storage. As a result, the surplus from a year ago rose to 60 Bcf from 34 Bcf reported last week. The surplus over the fiveyear average shrank to 17 Bcf from 29 Bcf.
