Singapore—State-owned oil giant China National Petroleum Corporation has signed preliminary agreements with Venezuela’s PDVSA to jointly produce oil from the Orinoco Belt in the South American country and set up a refinery in China for processing the crude. The deals were sealed between PDVSA and CNPC May 9 in Caracas, the Venezuelan company said on its web site.
